I ordered my normal size and these were too small. They did feel very cushiony and if they fit, I would have kept them.

This product is great. I have been buying these for the past 10 years and you can’t go wrong. They mold to your feet and are so comfortable. Perfect for summer for the beach and running errands around town.

I absolutely love these flip-flops. But apparently they are not making them any more, especially in lots of colors. Zappos is the only place that I have been able to find them.
Chris K –
Absolutely the best flip flops ever, so sad reef doesn’t seem to be making as many colors as they use to. I am on my feet bartending all day & they are the only thing I can tolerate wearing. Reef please bring back more colors!

What can I say…. I have been wearing Reef Sandy’s for over 15 years. I have always worn a size 8 in these Sandy’s. Unfortunately, I either received a defective sandal or Reef is making their Sandy’s sizing different. I get a new pair about every year if not twice a year. I had to return these because the size 8 was not true to Reef sizing in the past. I would say they were about a half size smaller; my heel was about hanging off the back. Needless to say I am not happy about the sizing change because going up to a size 9 would not work. Reef please go back to your previous sizing.

Usually love Reef flip flops but these run small and just don’t feel like quality flip flops but something from Walmart.

These Reef “Sandy” sandals are about 3/4 of an inch shorter than my other 2 pair of sandals in the same size 11. The quality is also different.

I’ve been buying reef flops for 10 years and this is the first pair I’ve been unhappy with. The outsole is very very slippery when walking on linoleum, wood or wet concrete. They have a weird layer of fabric glued to the sole that started failing by peeling off after a couple weeks of wearing. This fabric drags and makes these flip flops unwearable. Disappointing because these are my summer staple. They also felt slightly smaller than in years past.

I wish I had paid closer attention to the recent reviews. I have been buying a size 10 in this style for years but whatever they changed, the sizes are completely off and at least a half-size, if not more, smaller.

This is my second pair of Reef’s Sandy; having a wide foot, there are very few flip-flop type styles where my foot does not extend over the side. However, I do not have that problem with these — they are a perfect width for my size 5 duck feet! They may be ever so slightly shorter than my previous pair (as others have commented) from a couple of years ago, but not enough to make it necessary to size up — it still fits. The one thing changed (for the worse, in my opinion) is the tread: it was very ridged providing a good grip on my earlier pair; the new ones are nearly smooth on the bottom, so I am hoping there is enough to keep them from being slippery on wet surfaces. They are still the best-fitting and most comfortable flips I’ve ever had!

I have purchased several pairs of this flip-flop over the years, but I regrettably will need to find a new brand. The quality of the shoe and size have changed, and not for the better. I ordered a pair in my usual size, but they turned out too small (which others have mentioned here). The second pair I ordered (in the next size up) had significantly more material on the strap of the left shoe, making it impossible to walk in. Too bad, really… I loved these shoes, and would completely wear out each pair.

What happened to Reef? I have been wearing them forever, walked all around Paris in them. The arch support is gone, the comfort is gone. I tried several styles, I am beyond sad.

Normally I wear a size 9 but due to other reviews I sized up by one. The size 10 works fine and is comfortable just like my old reefs I bought back in 2017. So far I’m pleased with them.

I’ve bought several of the Sandy style over the years, and I always come back. The length and width feel true to size to me; however, the straps feel looser than I expected. I know as I wear them the straps kind of loosen, but I’m nervous that since they are starting out rather loose how are they going to feel in several months. The sandals feel great and provide nice support.
The only thing that is new to me is the soles of the sandal. It has this fabric like cover on it. I don’t remember those on Reefs before. I’ve seen that on cheaper shoes. After a quick Google search, some companies use the fabric sole as tax break when imported. I’m not sure if that is why Reef is doing it, but I’m pumped that I get to peel off the fabric as it comes loose so Reef can save a buck. Today is the first day I’m wearing these, so I’ll see how it goes with the fabric bottom and loose strap if I buy a Reef Sandy again. I’ll update my review as time goes on.

2 big problems:
1. The bottom of the sole has a velvety coating on it that attracts debris of all sorts, especially hair. If you have a dog that sheds AT ALL, you’ll be wearing your dog on the bottom of your feet everywhere you go! ?
2. Mine fell apart after just a few months of moderate wear. ??

I’m on my 6th pair. So glad to have them year round.

I love Reef Sandys! I’m sad they only seem to have black now, but they’re just marvelous.

I have been wearing Reef’s since 1996 and I only purchase and wear Reef’s. The rubber used lately on the Sandy Reef’s is much different, it is very firm, too hard and will not break in (I’ve never had to break in a pair of Reef’s). These hurt my feet and unable to wear.
GLynne –
These are so comfortable, last pair lasted for years! I worn them thin!

These were my go-to for a really long time and something changed in the last few seasons. They just don’t hold up the way they used to, and the sole is a little less comfortable and more flimsy. I still love how comfortable the webbing is, most other brands hurt my feet and give me blisters, but a few good long walks and now they start falling apart. For example, about a week after getting my last pair I was out for a walk when my foot caught the curb and I tripped, and a small chunk of the foam came off. I’m not a graceful person, I’m pretty clumsy, and these shoes used to handle that, but no longer.

I have purchased these in the past. They are not as comfortable as previous years. I am so disappointed. Fit was perfect: 8.5 wide foot fits a size 9 comfortably. The footbed is not as soft and they feel like a different shoe. So sad to have to return!

Similar to other reviews, I had to return this item because it is much smaller than the old ones were. It’s at least a half to a full size smaller. They are also a little more narrow than previous styles. The tread on the bottom is also different. Returning for a larger size.

I’ve had several Reef Sandy flip flops and an 8 has always been the perfect size. This time the 8 was way too short and the 9 fits like the 8 used to.

I have been wearing this style of Reefs for at least 10 years. This is the 4th time I’ve purchased. Over the years, the sole seems to get less cushioned. This time, the sole is so rigid it feels like I’m walking on concrete and my toes can’t bend when I flex my foot forward. I am going to keep these to wear to the pool, but I likely will not be purchasing this style again.

They changed the Sandy and not for the better, imo. The sole is much stiffer and heavier and the straps feel looser. I’ve had multiple Sandy’s over the years and I’m super sad they changed. I wish they’d make fun colors again too.
